Shahid Kapoor spoke up about picking unconventional characters and playing Vanilla one.
He said,” Yes I’m. I hate that word Vanilla. I used to hate it when people say oh you’re so cute.”
“I was like why would you say that to anybody. I never liked that word. I have learnt to ne graceful and accept it now that people throw it at you.”
He spoke,” I just felt like it’s very limiting, you have to be an artist which is what Farzi is all about. “
He added,” So some of my personal angst is attached to Sunny in Farzi and I wanted to express myself. I wanted people to see my soul, to understand my emotions, to experience my mind and not just stay busy with what’s on the outside that’s important.”
He said,” You want to look your best that’s great but there has to be much more than that if you want to sustain over a long period of time and if you want what you’re doing to be an expression of who you are.”
He continued saying,” You’re competing with everyone and that’s what you need to be aware of and you need to make choices which are not responsible.”
He said,” I think some of the choices , let’s just say that as a community the film fraternity has made in the last three or four years, have not been good. So we all have to come together to make stronger better clearer choices with more awareness of where thing’s are….”
” How the audience is feeling and how to keep them happy and satisfied because I do feel that the magic of movie making whether it’s an OTT show or a movie on the Big screen, if you can make something good you just get a lot of love.”
He added,” You just have to work and work and work and when you reach that place where the audience just feels like they want to give you all their love because they’re waiting to give it to you.”
He sighed telling,” but we’ve been disappointing them. I think the fault is in us and it’s not in the audiences. “
