The North Easter Film Festival (NEFF) 2023 had kick-started on March 24. The three day festival showcased some excellent films and documentaries from various parts of Northeast India. Celebrities like Mahima Chaudhry, Gulshan Grover, Padmini Kolhapure, Mukesh Chhabra, Ashok Pandit, Abhinav Kashyap, Poonam Dhillon and Pooja Sharma had attended the festival.
During this three-day festival, films like, ‘The Horse From Heaven’, ‘Mask Art of Majuli’, ‘A Star is Born’, ‘Mohan ra Madan’, ‘Bohag Bohag Mon’, ‘Lembi Leica’ among others were screened.
The inaugural lamp was lit by Kolhapure who looked pretty in a green dress while Mahima opted for an all-white look.
Mahima also posed happily and bonded with the people from the north east.
Mr Amstrong Pame, Director I&B, Govt of India addressed the audience and appealed to people to come and make films in the states of Northeast. The film festival witnessed a strong response from the northeastern states, with filmmakers from Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and other northeastern states.
The festival aims to work towards the supporting and promoting of films across genres, cultures and languages of the North Eastern Region with a vision of connecting the creative talents of the region to the mainstream industry and promoting the North East both in terms of the scenic geographical beauty and content.
The festival has been initiative by Sikkim Film Board in association with NFDC & Find Studioz to encourage content creators from the North Eastern (NE) States of India. It also aims towards supporting and promoting movies from various genres, cultures and languages of the North East while also promoting the region’s geographical beauty. The festival concluded today.
