Selfiee is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Raj Mehta, which serves as a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence. Produced by Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames and Cape of Good Films, the film stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi alongside Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha .
It is scheduled to be theatrically released on 24 February 2023.
Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Selfiee’s first song released on February 1. Titled, ‘Main Khiladi’ song is the recreation of the iconic song ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anaari’ starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi attempted to recreate the blockbuster song ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ from a 1994 film of the same name and looks like their effort has struck a chord with fans.
While the original featured Akshay and Saif Ali Khan, the remix version stars a dance face-off between Akshay and Emraan, along with Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty.
Speaking about the film’s success, director Raj Mehta said, “I’ve been fortunate to have a streak of good songs in my films and I’m happy Main Khiladi is helping me continue that streak.” ‘Selfiee’ is a remake of 2019 Malayalam film ‘Driving Licence’, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. This entertainer is scheduled to hit the screens on February 4.
Apart from this, Akshay Kumar also has ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ with Tiger Shroff in the pipeline and recently the duo re-created the hook step of ‘Main Khiladi’.
Akshay will also mark his Marathi debut with ‘Vedhat Marathi Veer Daudle Saat’ wherein he will play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen.
